America: 10th June 2017

This morning we heard some ruckus going on just outside our balcony. There were about 4 squirrels in the two trees next to us, one of which was really vocal (see my video uploaded today).

We decided to walk to Toscana Apartments to tell them in person that we wont be moving in with them (even though it would have been ideal had we stayed).

Next we shopped around in 2 stores for a bit of bubble wrap. Not a huge amount, just enough for re-packing the 2 chairs. Im quite glad to say this; the seller has agreed to take back our complete order of the dining room table and chairs with a full refund. Thank god! We only ever built up two of the 4 chairs, but to be honest they are great and shouldn't be matched with a crap table that has a astonishingly bad build quality (MDF, its not even plywood). Needless to say, there is no way the chairs and table are built from the same manufacturer. The seller just decided to make them match as a 'set' probably because they are all black.

Anyway, Sabine decided we should have a lunch at a restaurant. Irvine is weird and has a lot of non typically americanised restaurants. The one we went too was die hard healthy. We had to pick our greens from a choice, and choose whether to have it with bread in a sandwich form or just on the plate with a choice of veg or mash potato. In the end Sabine and I ordered the exact same meal, only mine was not in a sandwich form. The outcome of this was that hers was a small meal and mine was packed with veg on my plate. They cost the same yet I had double on my plate than she did! The drink we both chose was called a 'Green Monster' and was made of green veg and fruit and tasted earthy (slightly similar to 'The Green Machine' drink from the UK).

After that we came back and I fell asleep for a bit by Sabine's side. Later we went out to the park and she spotted a new bird to add to her list- a smallish grey heron.
The middle building is Google

My lunch...
